Pool Bubbler FAQs

A pool bubbler is a small nozzle installed into the floor of a shallow area like a sun shelf or tanning ledge. It is connected to the pool’s filtration system by a dedicated pipe. When the pool pump is running, water is forced upward through the nozzle to create a bubbling plume that breaks the surface of the water. Many modern bubblers also include built-in LED lights so the plume of water can glow in different colors at night.

A pool bubbler should ideally be installed in water that is 6 to 12 inches deep. If the water is too shallow, the spray may be too aggressive and splash out of the pool. If the water is deeper than 12 inches, the weight of the surface water will be too heavy for the pump to push through, and you will only see small ripples instead of a vertical plume.
